ABOUT

I have been  working in Turkish State Meteorological Service (TSMS) since 1987. In course of my career in meteorology I passed training courses in agrometeorology, hydrometeorology and climatology. I have  been preparing monthly, seasonal, annual climate assessments, climate classifications, climate indices, heating and cooling degree days analysis at www.mgm.gov.tr . I'm preparing climate monitoring, climate watch and seasonal forecast  for WMO RA VI RCC Network at www.emcc.mgm.gov.tr. I have been developed a Rainfall Intensity Analyses Software which has been utilized since 1993. I was the member of WMO CCl/CLIVAR Expert Team on Climate Change Detection Monitoring and Indices (ET-CCDMI).   I was Vice President of the WMO Commission Climatology I was Leader of the Expert Team on Strategy for Capacity Building for Climate Services. (ET-SCBCS) http://www.wmo.int/pages/prog/wcp/ccl/archive/ccl-15-structure.php. My Team developed climate services competencies in 5 levels. As leader of  Expert Group on Quality Management for Climatology I developed QMC web site http://www.qmc.mgm.gov.tr/.  Currently I'm Co-Chair of  WMO Mediterranean Data Rescue (MEDARE) Initiative http://www.omm.urv.cat/MEDARE/steering-group.html  and member of the Expert Team on Climate Monitoring and Assessment of WMO SERCOM. I contributed review process of WMO Guide to Climatological Practices, DGCS, IPCC LULUCF, AR4, AR5, AR6, Special Reports and GFCS Reports  as an external reviewer.  I attended IPCC 40th , 41st, 42nd, 43rd, 46th and 60th Sessions as Turkish delegate. I contributed WB TEFER Project and WMO DRR-SEE Project for disaster risk reduction in Turkiye. I'm the author of  more than 100 papers related to climate, water and agriculture which are published in international proceedings and journal. I prepare Climate Atlas and modeling climate parameters by using secondary parameters via Co-kriging and GWR tools under ArcGIS. In this context, I prepared Turkiye Radiation Potential Atlas. I participated or conducted several international education and training activities on climate applications, climate indices, climate change and agrometeorology http://www.rtc.mgm.gov.tr. I'm active user of CM-SAF satellite products for climate monitoring.  I'm preparing sectoral reports for climate change adaptaion and mitigation studies for agriculture, water, health, energy, tourism and DRR sectors. I have Ph.D. degree on Physical Geography.  I'm specialist on Occupational Health and Safety. In this contex, OHS Basic Trainings, Fire, First aid, Search and Rescue Team’s trainings were completed. Health examinations were made. Site surveillance and risk assessment were conducted. Contingency plans and identification of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) have been completed. Currently I'm Agricultural Engineer, Climate Scientist, Occupational Health & Safety Specialist in TSMS and I also serve as Judicial Expert in Turkish Courts. I am interested in Turkish music.
